SienAgosto is a summer residential course of private tuition, masterclass and performance held for young classical singers in Siena, Italy, in August. It is hosted by Siena Art Institute (SART).
The first SienAgosto was in 2014. Since then, nearly 200 singers aged 16-36 from 35 countries have attended.
The course lasts 9/10 days. A typical day starts at 9.00 and includes Italian language teaching, three or more private lessons, masterclass, lecture (often with invited workshop, rehearsals, and evening course recital). In addition at least two free public concerts are offered to and occasionally outside the city. For each course, teachers and accompanists are chosen, as available, from a larger faculty of singers and players who have all worked with SienAgosto.
The course director is the celebrated countertenor Michael Chance. It is managed from Siena by Valeria Indice.
